HTG’s FALL FINANCIAL FOCUS WORKSHOPS
We will kick off our fall Financial Focus Series on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 with “The Elder Caregiving Journey”. The workshop will be presented by Linda Ziac, President of The Caregiver Resource Center. Topics will include caregiving discussions with family members, gathering information, communicating with medical professionals, wills and estate planning, and distinguishing between eldercare myths and facts.
On Tuesday, October 19th, Alan Critchell from American Century will speak on “Raising Financially Aware Kids”, and on Tuesday, November 30th, Janice Kunst, CPA from Reynolds & Rowella will present “Playing Offense Through Strategic Tax Planning”.

“HTG Investment Advisors Inc. sponsors Fairfield Counts Big Band Orchestra at Waveny Park Summer Concert Series”
One of the premier big bands on the East Coast, Fairfield Counts Big Band Orchestra will be performing at the Waveny Park Summer Concert Series on Wednesday, September 1st at 7:30pm. Founded in 1976, the Fairfield Counts is a 17 piece big band playing the best of the big band music. Admittance is free.
HTG Celebrates Summer
This year our annual summer picinic was preceded by a kayak trip down Five Mile River in Rowayton, CT. Using double kayaks, we departed from Roton Point and toured the banks of Rowayton and Tokeneke. The sunny warm day ended with a pizza picnic overlooking the Long Island Sound on the grounds of the Roton Point Association.
HTG Investment Advisors will hold its last Financial Focus of the season at Lapham Community Center in New Canaan, CT.
"A Woman's Bridge to Financial Freedom" was held on Wednesday, May 5th at the Lapham Community Center (Waveny Park) in New Canaan. The program was presented by Barbara Ollinger CFP¨ and Jennifer Nicasio. Women have many of the same financial goals as men, but often face a different set of challenges when working toward those goals. Topics to be covered include how to set financial goals, establish investment plans, capitalize on tax-advantaged retirement planning vehicles and protect assets through smart estate planning.
Investment Strategies for Uncertain Markets
The Financial Focus session "Investment Strategies for Uncertain Markets" was held Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the HTG office in New Canaan. This workshop was led by Principals Tom Gnuse and Robin Sherwood, CFP¨. Tom and Robin reviewed basic principles for planning market exposure in uncertain times. The discussion focused on techniques for managing risk while achieving lifetime investment rewards.

The first workshop, "All You Need to Know About Long Term Care Insurance" will take place Tuesday, January 26th at 10:00am. The program will be presented by Steven Sheinberg of Georgetown Financial Group, who will provide information and answer questions about long term care insurance, as well as life and health insurance.
The second workshop, "A Woman's Guide to Financial Freedom" will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd at noon. Robin Sherwood CFP® and Barbara Ollinger CFP® will be the presenters.

This is the 9th annual edition of the prestigious listing, which this year recognized fewer than 500 firms nationwide. To Feature "A Photography Showcase"

September 17, 2009, Downtown New Canaan, CT: The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce and its team of dedicated merchants and professional services, who have recently embarked on a public relations campaign to strengthen the town's profile and encourage foot traffic throughout downtown, is excited to present the next stroll theme, "A Photography Showcase"
On Thursday, September 17th from 5-8 PM, over 25 area photographers will be gracing the stores, offices, and sidewalks with their work. Scenic, avant garde, edgy, ethereal, floral, even humorous - an eclectic display of talent! Many of these pieces will be for sale. A town-wide guide will map out each photographer's genre and location, as well as the many receptions and events throughout. Week and month long exhibits will vary. Stores stay open 'til 8 PM.
HTG Investment Advisors will be located at Barbara Cleary's Realty Guild office, located at 6 South Avenue. The photographer will be Lauren Santagata. We look forward to seeing you there.
On Aug. 28, New Balance of New Canaan and SPED*NET New Canaan co-sponsored the first Annual All Out for Autism 5K walk/run through the streets of New Canaan. This fundraiser hopes to be the first of many events to raise money to provide a safe, sensory friendly fitness facility in New Canaan for all individuals to enjoy, with particular attention to those individuals with Autism. HTG Investment Advisors not only donated to the cause, but participated in entering Susannah Hansley in the 5K run. She placed third in her age group with a time of 31:53.
