Client FAQs

Can I access my account information online?

A separate financial institution—Schwab or Fidelity—holds your investments in an account in your name and acts as custodian. You receive regular account statements from the custodian. In addition, you can view your account information online.

Schwab

  • Call the Schwab Alliance Team at (800) 515-2157. The team will instruct you how to set up online access.

  • Be sure to have your account number when you call.

Fidelity

  • Go to Fidelity’s website, www.Fidelity.com.

  • In the “log-in” area, click on, “Need help logging in.” Then, follow the online instructions for “new user.”

  • You’ll need your social security number to complete the process.

How do I move money in and out of my account?

Through Schwab or Fidelity, you can arrange to transfer funds directly between your local bank and your brokerage or IRA accounts. In this type of transfer, the funds move electronically between accounts registered to the same person. Transfers can be done via wire transfer or Electronic Funds Transfer (ETF).

Call our office if you want to arrange either a wire or EFT.

I’d prefer electronic receipt of information on my account. How do I arrange this?

Through both Schwab and Fidelity, you can arrange to have statements, confirmations, proxy statements, and fund reports delivered electronically.

If you have any questions, please call HTG Investment Advisors at 800 810-1119.

How do I pay my fee to HTG?

We deduct our fee quarterly in arrears (in January, April, July, and October) from your account. You will receive an invoice with your quarterly report. The advisory fee may be tax-deductible. We recommend you consult with your accountant to see if it is deductible. Please contact us if you would like a statement of our advisory fees for tax preparation.

What reports will I receive from HTG?

Each quarter, you will receive reports that provide performance and total return information as well as details on how your portfolio is allocated. In addition, each month you will receive statements from your custodian detailing transactions in your account. Our reports complement those monthly statements and provide a critical analysis of your investment performance. Because the quarterly reports will help you evaluate how your portfolio is performing, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with them.

Please let us know if you would like to review your reports.
